Must Have Monday {on a Tuesday!}

Hey, y’all!  I’m linking up with Blog Hoppin’ today to share my Must Haves for this school year!  Yup, don’t check your phones.  I’ll just tell you: it’s Tuesday.  A day late and a dollar short.  Sigh.

teacher week

Anyway, before I get to the goodies, I just have to tell you how much I LOVE MY NEW JOB!  I mean, I looooooooove it!  My work day is from 8:15-11:41am everyday, and I seriously could skip down the halls every morning because I am so happy.  I am so excited for a new adventure and thrilled to share my experience with my teacher blogging buddies.

However, I’m not working with kiddos just yet.  Boo.  Instead, I’m doing baseline testing and entering lots and lots and lots of data. LOTS.  {Is there anyone else out there entering Brigance data into the new online system?!  Because, holy cow, it’s going to take us all week to get these kiddos in!}

So, to start out my Must Haves, I have this – story of my life:

Data

…which I’m going to make synonymous with having a positive attitude!  I struggled with this last year, and feel rejuvenated with the start of this school year – even if I am consumed with data!  I feel so blessed!  This position just fits me in my life right now, so I’m just going to keep on, keepin’ on :)

This pic meets a lot of my Must Have criteria:

A) Diet Coke     B) Flair pens    C) Coffee    D) Organization

PS.  This is what my desk looked like at the end of the day, minus me looking at that computer screen cross-eyed!

Also, I cannot  live without my desk calendar:

I’d be remiss to leave out chevron.  I’m aware that it’s a Must Have on everyone and their mother’s must have list this season, but it makes me happy.  So it’s a Must Have.

Oooh, and I can’t forget my boys.  Total Must Haves in my life.  They’re what I look forward to waking up to each morning, and what I look forward to coming home from work to each afternoon.

And, as always, I can’t forget Mr. Sketch Markers.  NOW IN EIGHTEEN COLORS!  I know.  I about fell over, too.  I found mine on MPM School Supplies (they were generous enough to allow me to do a little shopping on their dime), and I was so excited to find them!  And, some cute Post-Its, too.  {Excellent customer service and quick shipping, but they were a little pricy.  All I could afford on my $25 gift code was the markers and the Post-Its.}

Lastly, a few random Must Haves that make this happy chick happier:

Totally light this sweet little candle up when I come home from school every day.  Instant relaxation.  I found it at a boutique in Michigan, and have already ordered a replacement.  The smell is so light and lovely – vanilla, coconut, and milk.  Aaaaahhhhhh.

My fair share of reality TV.  Currently love Big Brother #956.  Or whatever it is.  It’s a Must Have for Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.  Possibly with a beverage.  That is not Diet Coke.  Also, I kind of want Ian to win!  Ha!  And, there’s something about Danielle that reminds me of that sweet girl over at The First Grade Parade!

My Must Have for a weekend of relaxation after the school week definitely includes thrifting of some sort.  Sad that my yard-saling days are dwindling down as fall approaches.  Here’s one of my recent finds:

So, that’s my Must Haves for right now!

I thought I was alone with the Diet Coke and coffee going at the same time! Everyone always looks at it funny. Love it! :)

Wow! Great to see a back to the job post that's bursting with happiness! Glad to hear it!

I also have the Diet Coke addiction. For some reason I only really like it when it's in one of the 330ml cans. Glass/plastic bottles and those tall, skinny cans of Coke Light that they have in some European countries just don't do it for me. I'm moving to Italy tomorrow for 2 years so I'm hoping that the lack of fat Diet Coke cans will cure me of this affliction!

So glad you are lovin' your new job! I am stopping by for a little advice actually. I have been asked to present at a technology conference in October on Blogging Basics and Teacher Created Resources. Since you are and expert on both... any advice stop by and share if you have a moment.
Thanks,
Mindy
